ASP Assignment2

4/27

We watched the video of You Tube.
Then, we discussed about the video.
The first video's idea was so funny, if it is really joke.
However, I think we shouldn't punish people who don't speak in discussion.
If we know there is punishment like the shock, we would be nervous.
We can't think well because we should say something... anything.
My opinion about the good and bad example of discussion is on ASP assignment 1.
The last two videos are so interesting.
A native English speaker speaks katakana English and tells us "fluent" Japanese.
It was indeed "fluent"!!
I didn't think about the word "Sheee..." or "Heee..." so well, but we use it frequently.
I'd like to watch other videos uploaded by him.

ASP Assignment 1

I think the Bad example of discussion was really too bad.
First, the Shy girl didn't speak anything, and when she try to speak, the Loud girl and the Offended girl fought and finally, she couldn't tell her opinion.
The two fighting girl made an atmosphere that made shy girl not to say anything.
Second, the Immature girl used the phrase "I don't know..." frequently. She was the leader of the discussion, but I couldn't hear her explanation of what is the discussion about.
Third, the Bored girl didn't join the discussion.

On the other hand, the Good example of the discussion was indeed good example.
The leader explained what they would discuss about, and all people said their opinion.
All of them gave their opinion crisply and clearly.
There was no atmosphere that made someone threaten.

After I watch the videos, I thought that in our discussion, we should do like the good example.
We shouldn't fight each other, threat, fear mistake and be shy, be lazy and so on.
When the all members of the discussion can say their own opinion clearly, it would be a really good discussion.

ASP Assignment

*Good discussion
To be a circle and everyone can see each others' faces
To choose the leader at first
Many opinion are voiced by everyone
Logical discussion
Communicate with everyone
Brainstorming and to say every thought
Don't attack to someone

*Bad discussion
Silence
Someone become lazy
not join the discussion
can't enjoy the discussion
many opinion don't come out
someone don't hear others' opinion and only talk own thought

→To break silence
call the name of silent people
change the viewpoint of the question

*Japan should start teaching English...
→Disagree
It's useless
elementary school student should learn Japanese first
everyday is too much
There are no many good teacher of English for elementary school
Study English is difficult and take much time.

→Agree
children are flexible
faster is better
To learn from elementary school is good opportunity
They can learn grammar in listening and speaking contained in play.

I disagree with this opinion, because the elementary school students should learn Japanese before English.
If we don't know good Japanese, we can't learn good English either.

*The age of...
We can't earn and we can't live alone.
We are physically adults, but mentally not adults nor children.
We need learn social structure through part time or normal job.
The answer cannot be decided so clearly.
"What we have to do in adult"←We learn after we become adult, so the age decided by law is not so important.
We'll be adults when we start the job.
There is not so big difference between 18-20.

The last question was so difficult.
We can't say its answer clearly.
The first and second are maybe answerable question, but the values are different between each other.
We couldn't made clear answers, but I want to discuss them again if we have a chance.

Blog Assignment 1

According to Meiland, a "good" college teachers present information in the following way.
They present information in the sense of "what is currently believed" and talking about the basis on which this information is usually believed.
Critical thinking is sometimes to break common sense or something usually believed.
To know what is currently believed is so important because if we don't know, we cant agree or disagree to them.
We can criticize only when we know the target.
